Nothing, and I mean nothing was going to put a stop to Vanessa & Patrick’s Brookside Vineyard wedding. Severe storms, gale force winds and hail…. Vanessa & Patrick just shrugged it off, never once letting the weather detract from the fact that they were getting married.
In fact Plan B probably turned out better than Plan A, having their beautiful ceremony (with their beloved dog Loki by their side) tucked away inside the rustic charm that is the Vineyard Kitchen at Brookside.
When I was with Vanessa getting ready I could see just how proud Vanessa’s parents were of her. Witnessing a little embrace between her mum and dad down a corridor, truly being in that moment of their daughter getting married warmed my heart. The days little “dramas”, mum trying to decide which out of the 20 pairs of new stockings she bought would be right, Vanessa attempting to remove a little bit of make up off her dress with a fluro orange dish cloth & Patrick trying to say his speech over a bucket load of hail hitting the tin roof made me laugh with them, like I was with old friends.
Vanessa and Patrick never lost sight of the bigger picture, its the most important thing. The love they share is inspiring, their families so welcoming and their friends a joy to be around.
Their Brookside Vineyard wedding is one that will stick in my mind for years to come. It was a day that I felt truly connected to a couple and witnessed real love on a glorious rainy day.
