While it might not be the obvious choice for a premium wedding venue, a winery can in fact lay the foundations for a unique ceremony and a reception to remember. We churn out a huge amount of delicious wine down south, so not only will you have an imaginative twist on your big day, you’ll also be supporting one of the local industries! I love shooting in wineries, especially when the weather goes my way. There’s a beautiful peacefulness to them that I find really translates well in the shots.

Hay Shed Hill – Wilyabrup
If you’re seeking good food as well as good wine, look no further. Hay Shed Hill serves up some of the best food I’ve ever eaten at a wedding, period. No hyperbole! This place is the real deal.
Run by Michael Kerrigan, one of the most respected winemakers in the country, Hay Shed Hill is nestled within a picturesque property that was originally used as a returning settlement for World War I soldiers. The venue hire includes a selection of restaurant specialities in beautiful rustic vineyard surroundings. From intimate affairs with your nearest and dearest to full-scale events for two hundred guests, Hay Shed Hill can help you tie the knot in amongst the vines in a ceremony you’ll never forget.
Arimia – Wilyabrup
Arimia is tucked away on the gorgeous Arimia Estate, surrounded by stretches of amazing coastline. They have some truly stunning gardens that provide the perfect backdrop for photographs, complete with a mouth-watering menu of sustainable local produce. All in all, I count Arimia as one of the best South West Australian wineries that cater for weddings.
Aravina – Yallingup
Whether you’re planning a big wedding or a small one, Aravina has several ceremony options that are certain to fit your required size. In fact, this is one of the premier South West Wineries with awesome wedding options. Aravina features rolling vineyards, sparkling lakes and perfectly manicured gardens, meaning you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to your ceremony location (and I’ll be spoilt for choice for those all-important portrait shots).
Voyager Estate – Margaret River
Voyager Estate, located on Margaret River, can be counted among the most stunning winery wedding venues in the South West. If you’re lucky enough to be getting married in the spring, this is the place for you. The gardens are some of the most beautiful you’ll ever see, and if you’re after beautiful wedding photos (let’s face it – who isn’t), then Voyager Estate won’t disappoint. I’m always drawn towards their beautiful rose arbour; it’s simply a must-shoot every time I’m there.
Leeuwin Estate – Margaret River
If you’re planning a larger wedding with an extensive guest list, then look no further than Leeuwin Estate, also situated in Margaret River. This beautiful winery has expansive, established grounds, making it perfect for an all-inclusive ceremony. Weddings at Leeuwin Estate are individually crafted to suit the unique requirements of every couple. Whether you’re looking for an indoor party or an outdoor extravaganza, Leeuwin Estate has you covered.
Wills Domain – Yallingup
In a crowded arena for the title of the most stunning views in WA, I think Wills Domain in Yallingup might just take the crown. This gorgeous winery sits atop sixty hectares of rolling hills and gorgeous scenery overlooking the Indian Ocean. Their redesigned restaurant and cellar door provides wonderful flexibility, marking out a number of individual locations you can spruce up and make your own.
Of course, the ceremony wouldn’t be complete without Wills Domain’s award-winning wines complimenting the proceedings, as well as a delicious menu and excellent service standards.
Hackersley Winery – Ferguson Valley
This little hidden gem tucked away in the Ferguson Valley provides amazing, sweeping views alongside incredible, mouth-watering food. This majestic winery was awarded “5 Star Winery” status by James Halliday in 2013; the undeniable beverage quality is further complemented by a Gold Plate-awarded restaurant. Weddings here are gorgeous, intimate affairs. If you’re looking to create some lasting and meaningful memories, Hackersley Winery could be the perfect choice for you.
