9 Unique Wedding Venues In Perth You’ve Got To See!
There’s a surprisingly wide range of unique wedding venues in Perth, from balconies overlooking the river to library rooftops, from Vegas-style chapels to Great Gatsby-inspired halls.
As a full-time Perth wedding photographer for almost 15 years now, I’ve got a good handle on the different venues to choose from, the best vendors to work with, and even places for an engagement shoot. This is my list of the 10 most incredible wedding venues in Perth.
1. Moana Hall
Roar back to the 1920s with a Great Gatsby-inspired Moana Hall wedding! Tucked away at the end of the Hay Street Mall, this colonial gem is located on the upper floor of a 1908 building.
This grand venue can cater for 120 sit-down guests (or a cocktail party for 200), with a large balcony overlooking the leafy street below. From the moment you set foot within its elegant embrace, you’ll feel the allure of a storybook setting, where romance and sophistication harmoniously intertwine.
Moana Hall’s neoclassical façade and grand entrance, adorned with intricately carved details, provide a stunning backdrop for the most magical day of your life. An atrium suffused with soft natural light welcomes guests while gleaming marble floors and graceful archways draw you into the venue.
The main ballroom has ornate chandeliers and a neutral colour palette that provides a versatile backdrop for any wedding theme. To top it off, the menu at Moana Hall is a symphony of flavours, each dish a celebration of local and seasonal ingredients.

2. The Stables Bar
If you’re looking for a stunning urban space to host your special day then a Stables Bar wedding should be right up at the top of your list! Situated at the end of a small Hay Street laneway, The Stables builds on its rich 19th-century past but then throws in a twist with its fresh modern attitude.
The turn-of-the-century brickwork, exposed timber beams, and lush greenery create a space that works for both a ceremony and a reception, accommodating 110 guests seated and 250 standing.
Their functions team are top-notch and will help you plan your wedding every step of the way. The varied menu options are designed by Executive Chef Ben Keal and feature crispy-skinned barramundi and roasted Arkady lamb rack.
3. WA Rowing Club
The River Room in the WA Rowing Club is a delightful venue on the Swan River with views of the city skyline and river. Established in 1868, this is Perth’s oldest rowing club and is housed in a classically restored heritage building. When it comes to waterfront wedding venues in Perth you can’t do much better than this!
With wooden floorboards, rowing paraphernalia adorning the walls, a high mini orb roof, exposed wooden support frames, a built-in bar and a large balcony, there’s a lot to like about this well-kept secret.
The River Room can comfortably sit 80 for lunch or dinner, or 130 for a stand-up cocktail-style event. Your WA Rowing Club wedding will include catering by a team with 30 years of combined experience and menus to suit all tastes and budgets!
4. City of Perth Library Rooftop Terrace
If you look up “secret gem” in any book in the Perth Library, you’ll be directed to find the stairs leading to its Rooftop Terrace.
Right in the heart of the city in the vibrant Cathedral Square precinct and with views down to the Swan River, this is one of the best Perth rooftop venues. It’s a great location for both a ceremony and a reception with ample photo locations nearby. I’ve seen some magical weddings take place here on warm Perth summer nights!
An internal space, including a complementary lectern, microphone and AV equipment, adjoins the terrace. While a finishing kitchen, next to the lifts, is available for catering purposes. The capacity of the terrace is 150 in a cocktail-style set-up, and there are ample public transport and parking options nearby.
5. The Melbourne Hotel
The gorgeous Aurora Rooftop Bar is the headline act here, although the fact that there is on-site accommodation for you and your guests is an added bonus that can be a swing vote for many couples. A Melbourne Hotel wedding is all about the rooftop and the epic service and catering on offer!
The menu is varied and impressive, offering an international array of flavours, from classic Australian favourites to authentic Asian cuisine — all crafted with the finest locally sourced produce. The cocktails are among the best in the city and, if included on your wedding day, will be sure to get your guests up and going!
The Melbourne Hotel has heritage and contemporary guest rooms designed to provide a comfortable sanctuary. After a night of celebration, you and your guests will sink into the premium bed linens, lap up the luxury bath amenities and relish the tech-savvy perks like high-speed Wi-Fi, TVs with free movies, and personal gadget connectivity.

6. The State Buildings
With seven wedding venues under one roof, The State Buildings are pretty familiar with the old tying of the knot. All seven offer something unique with some are even able to accommodate your ceremony. Plus, Como The Treasury (the elegant boutique hotel also in the state building) is one of Perth’s best five-star hotels and arguably the most beautiful prep location around!
I particularly love the fun and vibrancy of Long Chim, a beautiful barrel-vaulted basement and high-walled courtyard. Housed in a characterful heritage cellar with brick archway features, Long Chim Perth parades out contemporary Thai flavours from an open-plan kitchen. The 130-seat dining room leads onto a large 120-guest outdoor courtyard and a 45-seat cocktail bar.
Possibly the best features? The exposed brickwork and collaborative street art by renowned Thai-based artists Alex Face, Bon, Sath, Diamond One, and Gong.
7. Hackett Hall @ The WA Museum Boola Bardip
This mesmerising building is one of Perth’s stand-out structures, conceived and designed by the international architectural consortium.
It integrates five of Perth’s most extraordinary heritage buildings, all of which are ingeniously wrapped into the overall design, with seamless connections between them and the new buildings — making it the best option for a classic Perth museum wedding!
The mezzanine level showcases the original library bookcases and spiral staircases — and a blue whale is suspended from the central hall!
The hospitality team of Heyder & Shears have been catering at the museum for over 16 years and specialises in private events, exquisite food, and faultless service. Executive Chef Stephen Watson creates menus that evolve with both trends and seasonal availability.
The events team can also explain the venue-specific logistics, coordinate the setup of lighting, as well as the booking of any security and cleaning as required.
8. Wolf Lane
Hidden down a laneway behind a black door is Wolf Lane, an exclusive and truly unique cocktail bar that can host a proper celebration.
There’s such an eclectic mix of prized possessions that you almost don’t need to do anything when it comes to styling for your day. Just throw in a few florals and you’re done! I’m sure a few couples will be attracted to that idea but there’s much more to Wolf Lane than its convenience.
A Wolf Lane wedding offers a real “down-the-rabbit-hole” experience, with a twisted storybook den and a fairytale narrative that features strongly. The drinks reflect this with fruity teapots and flaming marshmallow-topped cocktails. It can host wedding receptions for up to 120 guests, with a roving dinner of canapes and quirky food stations the norm.
You can add an extra touch of magic with the Raid the Lolly Cupboard Candy Buffet or Hansel & Gretel’s Donut Bar.

9. The QT
This boutique hotel can play host to a proper party and then give you a place to rest your head once it’s all done.
There are several spaces and packages on offer with a QT Hotel wedding such as VIP drinks on arrival, private pop-up bars, DJs, sideshow performances, gifts, treats, surprises, and an indulgent three-course dinner with paired drinks. A range of stunning boutique spaces cater for opulent sit-down dinners or intimate parties, all matched with equally exquisite menus.
Maybe the most unique aspect of The QT is their Floor’d concept whereby you and your guests are handed over complete ownership of an entire floor. This is a wild night in … with no ceiling on where the night can take you! You can pick your package and shape your evening, all on your own terms.
There’s plenty more to a wedding than just the venue! If you’re still on the lookout for unique wedding venues in Perth and need a wedding photographer, send me a message and I’ll tell you about what I do and how we can work together to make your wedding day in Perth a total success.
