As a wedding photographer, I bring my own set of skills to the table, but ultimately my work can only be as good as the people around me: the venue, the catering, the florists, the make-up artists, the bridal designers – the list goes on.

Invitations are the first impression you get to give your precious guests, so it pays to make sure it’s a good one! Emailed invitations are of course fine, but if you’re after that personal touch, handcrafted invitations are definitely the way to go.

Make-up, make-up, make-up. The majority of brides are going to be obsessed with the look they have for their wedding and rightly so. It also impacts on my job, as bad make-up can ruin a photograph (or at least lead to some intricate editing on the back end!). Fortunately, I’ve been lucky in my career to work with some of the best in the business.
Elicia Rose, The Pretty Parlour, Gloss.Plus and Makeup By Melanie create stunning looks which last the whole day, from the initial walk up the aisle to the final conga line around the dancefloor. Cat Elizabeth Artistry, Jacqui Bradfield, Rebekah Clarke, Holly Garvey and Brittany Mason Makeup are also at the top of their game; whenever I see their names on the vendor list I know I’m in good hands and I breathe a little easier!

Getting the dress right is crucial. As much as brides might obsess over their make-up, it’s all for nothing if the dress isn’t up to scratch. Through the White Door showcase some of the best modern and bohemian gowns from across the globe and stock a few of my personal favorite brands. Lola Verma delivers chic, sophisticated elegance, while Harriette Gordon, a local Perth gal, designs and creates stunning one-of-a-kind pieces.
If you’re after high-end couture gowns, then check out Galia Lahav via Dion For Brides, while if you want a Made with Love gown, you should head to their exclusive stockists, Brides by Design. They also happen to specialise in the most on-point alterations I’ve ever seen. The band might not be the first thing on anyone’s list, but trust me, you’re going to regret it if you leave this one to the last minute. If you think about it, the band is with you for a significant chunk of your day; they’re also the ones to lead you into that all-important first dance. Class acts like Bird & Boy, Big Horn Productions, Baker Boys Band and Summer Club Band will keep you and your guests dancing all night long.

Stylists bring the whole thing together, coordinating the work of all the other vendors and celebrants into one joyous, momentous, stunning occasion.
