13 STUNNING WEDDING VENUES IN MARGARET RIVER & THE SOUTH WEST

If there’s one place in Australia that’s ideal for the quintessential storybook wedding, it’s got to be Margaret River and the South West. I actually grew up in the area, so I know the region inside and out – and from dramatic coastal rocks to sparkling beaches to weddings under the stars, you can find what you’re looking for here.

There are plenty of stunning wedding venues in Margaret River and the South West that are all-inclusive, meaning they can host both ceremonies and receptions. Many also include accommodation, perfect if you’re planning a destination wedding, or you can find lots of luxury homestays and Airbnbs where you can get ready beforehand.

Wondering where to get married in South West Australia? Here are 13 of my top recommendations for the area.

1. Solitaire Homestead

For a luxury bush wedding, check out Solitaire Homestead, a secluded rural retreat nestled halfway between Dunsborough and Yallingup. They have a gorgeous spot for outdoor ceremonies and offer three reception areas, with relaxing outdoor spaces, towering gum trees, and plenty of space for tipis!.

Even better, Solitaire, like several of the venues mentioned here, offers BYO with no corkage fees – a helpful way to save on catering costs.

2. Old Broadwater Farm

One of the top wedding ceremony locations in Busselton is Old Broadwater Farm, not far from Perth. They can host your ceremony, reception, and bridal party accommodation, so it’s a one-stop-shop.

I love their luxurious, silk-lined marquee and the picturesque scenery of Old Broadwater. From the gorgeous wooden pavilion to the manicured garden, we’ll find plenty of amazing locations to shoot wedding photos here.

For inspiration, check out some photos from Katie and Josh’s wedding at Old Broadwater Farm.

There’s plenty of lush green space for photos and outdoor setups. It’s all lined with twinkling fairy lights, making it a stunning locale for afternoon and evening ceremonies.

4. Black Brewing Co

Black Brewing Co is one of the best Margaret River wedding venues if you’re after something stylish, modern, and delicious – the food here is just as impressive as the views.

This space has become increasingly popular in recent years for weddings. With a beautiful island ceremony location and a huge indoor reception venue, with an abundance of natural light and lake views, it’s easy to see why!

5. Credaro Wines

If you’re dreaming of a vineyard wedding, look no further than Credaro Wines, just south of Dunsborough. This Tuscan-style cellar door is the oldest family-run winery in Margaret River, with wedding guests having exclusive use of the estate.

The rolling hills of Wildwood Valley make for an incredible ceremony location, especially at sunset, and there’s plenty of room to set up marquees. Credaro can cater for cocktails and canapes or a formal, sit-down dinner.

There are also a few other South West wineries that make for great wedding venues as well.

6. Meelup Farmhouse

For an unforgettable wedding, you might like Meelup Farmhouse, just minutes from Meelup Beach. It’s a working hobby farm full of charm and character, with an emphasis on seasonal produce and amazing cocktails.

We’ll find plenty of unique photo opportunities here as well, such as the outdoor verandah, lush gardens, and farmhouse-chic furniture and decor. Plus the added bonus of farmyard friends!

8. Margaret River’s Secret Garden

If you ever read The Secret Garden as a child, you’re sure to be amazed by Margaret River’s Secret Garden. Set off Caves Road, this dreamy spot is perfect for smaller, intimate weddings.

Long tables can be set up in the courtyard and we’ll have a ball taking photos here – think draping wisteria, vibrant blooms and floral arches. It’s stunning year-round, but it looks its best in the spring months.

9. Gilgara Homestead

If you’ve been thinking about an outdoor tipi wedding, Gilgara Homestead can be a lot of fun. This spacious venue really makes you feel like you’re immersed in the countryside, but with all the luxury conveniences you want for your wedding day.

There’s limited accommodation as well, but more than enough room for the wedding party to use while getting ready.

10. Linga Longa Estate

Linga Longa Estate in Balingup is an enchanting, secluded estate with plenty of space for weddings, including the Gazebo, Lakeside, Hayshed, and Forest Cathedral.

You can hold your reception in their marquee or outdoors at the Log Lounge, complete with a fire pit. It’s the ideal spot for a relaxed countryside wedding that feels miles away from the city. Plus, there’s tipi accommodation for you and your guests!

11. Bunkers Beach House

Set on the spectacular Bunker Bay, Bunkers Beach House is a stylish and special place to host your reception.

The dedicated staff are amazing at transforming the space into a dreamy wedding paradise, with twinkling lights, fresh flowers and the soothing breeze of the ocean.

13. Donnelly River

Another great countryside location is Donnelly River, a former timber mill town and present-day holiday village in the Shire of Nannup. You can have a picturesque, open-air wedding here – in fact, you can pretty much have the entire village to yourself!

The accommodation might not be five-star luxury, but it oozes scenic charm and heritage, making it incredibly unique. Plus, there’s lots of amazing wildlife to be seen here, including kangaroos, emus and colourful parrots.

I would Remove margaret river’s secret garden from this list. We tried to organise our wedding here but after driving from perth to the venue, they didn’T bother showing up for the appointment. Tried calling twice and emailed- no reply. Upon researching further, it’s evident they have a reputation for unprofessionalism.

Hi Babette, I’m so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them. Personally, I’ve only had the most lovely interactions with the owners and always enjoyed working at the venue so I can only speak from my own (and my couples) experience.
